Cristin Patterson, LLPC (pending), NCCCristin Patterson is a Limited License Professional Counselor, as well as a National Certified Counselor. She obtained her master’s degree in Counseling from Oakland University and will soon complete her Child and Adolescent Specialization.

She has experience counseling individuals coping with a wide range of emotional challenges including, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, anger management, stress management, gender identity, life transitions, self-esteem, relationship issues, grief, and parent/child conflict. Cristin strives to create a safe and nonjudgmental environment for each client where they can openly explore their concerns. Her counseling approach is tailored to each client’s individual needs. She believes therapy is a collaborative experience, and is dedicated to assisting her client’s find their own solutions and achieve their own goals.

Creating a safe and private environment for children and teens is especially important to Cristin. Just like adults, children and teens are quite anxious when they are brought in for counseling; so establishing a safe environment is her top priority. When working with children and teens, it is Cristin’s goal to make the counseling experience as stress-free and enjoyable as possible, so that they actually look forward to returning. Cristin recognizes and supports each family’s unique set of values and parenting styles, and works within those parameters. Cristin often incorporates the use of a sand tray, therapeutic games, art activities/crafts, as well as talk therapy, all of which provide insight and interventions to help your child.

Married with three young children, Cristin understands the busy life style today’s families face. While balancing her own family and career, she is dedicated to helping families find support, connect better, and enhance their current skills, so that they can experience happier and more manageable days.

As a Limited License Professional Counselor, Cristin’s work at Trinity is under the direct supervision of Tonya Ratliff, LPC, NCC, ACS. Cristin is a member of Chi Sigma Iota, the International Honor Society for Professional Counselors, and the American Counseling Association (ACA).
